Community Awards Terms and Conditions

The following rules (“Rules”) together with Vale of Glamorgan Broadcasting CIC's (operator of Bro Radio) of YMCA Barry, Court Road, Barry, CF63 4EE general and competition terms and conditions apply to the “Community Awards“ radio promotion ("the Competition") which will run on the following dates  8th October 2018 - 8th December 2018, with the potential of an extension up to 21st December 2018. 

Anyone who makes a nomination (an “Entrant”) will be deemed to have understood these Rules along with the Terms and Conditions and will be bound by them. 

Local Hero Nomination Requirements:
All nominees must be living, working or volunteering in the Vale of Glamogan. Proof of residence may be required.
For nominees under the age of 18, we advise that permission of a parent or guardian is sought before making a nomination.
Award categories are open to all ages unless otherwise stated.
Staff, volunteers or directors of Bro Radio cannot be nominated for any work relating to Bro Radio or Vale of Glamorgan Broadcasting CIC.
Supporters or sponsors of Bro Radio's Community Awards are ineligible for any award which they directly sponsor. If sponsors or supporters of the event are nominated for other awards, then they will not be involved in the judging of the award which they are nominated for.
Any judge who has a direct relationship, whether that be business or personal must declare their interest to the rest of the panel and will be excluded from making comment on said nominee.

Nominations for all awards will open on Monday 8th October at 9:00am and close at 23:59pm on 8th December 2018. Extension to the nomination period is at the discretion of Bro Radio's management.
Incomplete nominations may not be accepted.
Any nominations submitted after nomination period has closed will not be accepted.
Bro Radio reserve the right to put your nominee forward for an alternative category should it be deemed more appropriate.
If your nominee is shortlisted, you may be contacted in early January to provide more information and you will be asked to participate in filming and photography for Bro Radio's Community Awards Evening.
The judging panels decision is final and appeals cannot be made.
Shortlisted nominees and final winners will be selected by a panel of judges from Bro Radio, our sponsors and Glamorgan Voluntary Services, based on a set criteria in January 2019.
Three shortlisted nominees for each category and a plus one will be invited to attend the Community Awards Ceremony. Additional tickets may be purchased at £35pp. Purchasing additional tickets does not guarantee a seat with the finalist.
The award ceremony will take place on Saturday 31st March 2019 at The Memo Arts Centre in Barry, where the winners of all categories will be announced.
The winner of each category will be required to participate in publicity photos, videos and interviews for Bro Radio. The written consent of any finalist under the age of 18 will be sought prior to the event.
Each finalist and their plus one will be provided with a three course dinner and dietary requirements should be passed onto Bro Radio in writing before 28th February 2018.
Any special requirements including disabled access must be disclosed no later than 28th February 2018.
Bro Radio reserves the right to make changes to these terms and conditions at any point during the nomination period.
