Bro Radio

We Don't Just Say It,
We Mean It!

'wIGGY'S Wide Awake Club'  Monday - Friday, 6am - 10aM

HI there! Thanks for checking our page, which is of course YOUR page, because we are all part of ' Wiggy's Wide Awake Club'. The response to our new daily breakfast show on Bro Radio, has been nothing short of FANTASTIC! Really pleased with the way the show is progressing, picking up new listeners all the time not only across Barry and The Vale, but indeed the whole of Wales and the U.K. From Andy in Saundersfoot to Meg In Chepstow, Jackie in Newcastle and Trish in Bristol (alright my babber?) the Bro Radio family is forever expanding....bit like AJ's waistline!

The secret of our success will remain upstairs for the time being if that's ok with you? If you're already taking part and interacting with the show then you may have a few little clues to work on!  The music we play on the club is second to none - why? I'm not goverened by a playlist which says I have to play this after that, after this, like many commercial radio stations these days. I play songs and tunes to capture the mood and feel of the day. Requests from listeners, dedications, birthdays and have fun both in the studio and with my audience......It's worked for me for the past 17 years, a succesful formula! Stand by for the return of a few favourites from Wiggy's shows over the years, coming back to Bro Radio very soon. We also run the hugely popular  "Wiggy's Golden Hour" every work day between 9- 10am, taking you right back with some classic facts and musical memories.

'WIGGY'S SUNDAY LOVE SONGS'  10AM-12PM with wedding wow!

Our brand new show is really taking off! "Wiggy's Sunday Lovesongs" with Wedding Wow!, was an idea that I knew would be a winner. Whilst other radio stations continue to play the same cluster of  songs, day in day out this is a great alternative to ease you into Sunday.  I  play some of the best music on the planet , including lots of your requests until mid-day.

We have your  Dream Top Three, Magical Motown, Lovers Rock your dedications along with a few songs from our featured artists of the week.

Don't forget you can sign up to my various Facebook Groups to get the very latest on all the shows, and lots of behind the scenes photographs and secrets!

For new listeners a little backround on Mr Wiggins family:

I am married to 'The Welshgirl' Catherine, whom I met working for radio station The Wave, in Swansea many years ago....on a blind date! It started in a carpark and ended in an Indian with copius cups of coffee! You will hear Mrs Wiggy across the station in many different guises, I wonder if you can spot them?!  We have two little boys...with lots and lots of toys! Joseph our eldest will incredibly be 3 this March. He adopted  "The Milk Monster" tag at an early age and is a typical fun filled little fella, always with a smile on his face. We were overjoyed when little bother Thomas came along last April ..hard to believe he's almost a year old! "Tom Tom" is the spitting image of Joseph.....and loves his food! We also have a lovely old cat ginger Tom ' Mr Tigs' who is forever keeping on his toes....and out of the Wiglets way!

As well as radio presenting we have several other businesses which work well alongside our main jobs. I  still freelance in the evenings as '"Wiggys Real Discos" playing across the whole of Wales And The West  at corporate evenings, wedding, birthday and engagement parties. Also I sing and act part of The Brothers Of Blues tribute act, which is great fun. Catherine has her own photography business which is always very busy with weddings and  personal bookings. So now you know where to come!

I often get asked why I'm at Bro Radio? It's a great product ,a super family, plays music I believe in and has fabulous prospects.

Thank you for your support, without you we wouldn't be succesful, you are "Wiggy's Wide Awake Club"

Onwards and upwards in 2012

I have joined a fabulous Slimming World class in Bridgend and am back in training. Last week I shed an incredible half a stone which I am really chuffed about, as I have put in alot of hard work. It is by far the best experience I have had to get back in shape and I really recommend the plan..Where else can you eat everything you want and still loose weight?! A good friend of the station Angie Daniel has shed an incredible amount of weight and is still going strong. The beauty of the class is that everybody encourages each other, and we have a darned good laugh in the process! Helen the group leader is right up my street, full of bean always up for a laugh and generates a great atmosphere! It was amazing to win not one but two certificates for all my work last week, and I tole the class about my new training regime, which includes a 45 minute run at least four times a week, along with weights and core excercise. I have bought a great machine called 'The Trim Tone' which really was a bargain from 'High Street TV and comes Highly recommended.

Later today I am filming again for S4C in their tv series Alyce. It's a mystery location and will be aired later in the year, possibly towards the back end of November...I will keep you posted. I am enjoying this great experience, it's really fascinating to see how shows are shot and made. Here's a link to the actual series for you, it looks lots of fun - very colourful and spicey...which is probably why I'm on set!

Have a great weekend, I'll catch you on Sunday for Lovesongs with Wedding Wow!

Thursday April 25th, 2012

Today is our youngest, Thomas Rhys Francis, first birthday. It's quite incredible where the past 365 days have gone...but they have! Never forget the evening when Mrs Wiggy shouted through gritted teeth, 'We've got to go NOW!" I knew time was against us and thought we should have driven to hospital alot earlier. A dash through some layte drivetime traffic to The Heath Hospital, Cardiff. As usual, there were no parking spaces after I'd dropped Catherine and 'The Dragon' (mum in law) right outside the maternity wing. After looking for 5 minutes I knew I had to park 'the old girl' an yellow lines and run...run....run!  Up three flights of stairs to her room, the fastest 1,000 metres I've ever done....Twenty minutes later we had a beautiful baby boy, btother to Joseph (The Milk Monster) It's an hour of my life I will NEVER EVER forget!

Mrs Wiggy and Tom Tom at his first birthday party! We had a lovely party last thursday afternoon, all the family came round and Thomas was the life and soul as he always is! We are having another on Sunday for friends which the boys are looking forward to - especially the birthday cake!

Busy busy times for us at "Wiggy Towers", as we are smack in the middle of the wedding season! Catherine is incredibly flat out with her photography business, not to mention balloons and wedding cakes she decorates for her mum at 'Cakes And Favours'. It's all good though, and we have lots of functions and dates booked into Swansea, South West Wales this next couple of years, so maybe we'll bump into you with your glad rags on?! Here's a link to our Facebook page if you would like to see some of our recent parties, which have all been fabulous in their own ways.

Last weekend we had a FAB party in Bridgend for a lovely couple Nicola And Richard. They were both panicking like mad about the weather, heavy rain all week. Thankfully the gods were smiling and we not only enjoyed a sun filled day, but a brilliant party in the evening aswell! It's incredible how everyone loses their 'airs and graces' at weddings, with the good old air guitar taking a real bashing to Guns N Roses 'Sweet Child Of Mine' (extended version of course!) If a job's worth's doing it's worth doing well!

 Monday April 23,2012

Another hectic weekend for The Wiggins family, so many weddings and parties on at the moment so we are both busy! Thanks heavens for mums and families eh? I still have an odd weekend free so please mail or call anytime if you have an evening coming up, or are looking for an AMAZING photographer (ok that's enough Mrs Wiggy!) We would be lost without some help to look after 'The Milk Monster' and 'Tom Tom!' We are plnning a little get together for this Thursday as it will be Thomas Brynley Francis' 1st birthday! Lord knows where the past year has gone since I left Real Radio?! The little man is fast turning into a right little character, and Mrs Wiggy had been busy with her BIG lense to grab some latest shots. I'll put some up here and on the Facebook group later this week.

This has been the first weekend since time began that I've been good with my food on the weekend. I am out training four times a week so am looking forward to weighing in at Slimming World this coming Wednesday!

Is there still a drought on?!!

Happy Monday! Wiggy x

Busy busy times at present at "Wiggy Towers".  Not only is "Wiggy's Wide Awake Club" staeming along picking up new listenersacross Wales everyday for us at Bro Radio, but the acting is flying into action!. Confirmation that I will appear in another S4C series 'Alyce' next week, more details when I have them. I also went to a Slimming World class in Bridgend with a good friend yesterday evening. Expecting just to step on and off the scales and 'get on with it', I was amazed at the dedication and support from a huge team of ladies trying to loose a few pounds for the summer! You will see me munching on Pineapples, Grapefruits and Melons...'cos I loves em I do! Keep you posted on my progress, but I am out and about cardio training again which is great with the light mornings and nights here!

Wednesday April 18th, 2012

The Milk Monster our eldest is running the roost in his second week of his Easter Playschool break. He just loves learning as most children do at three years of age...WE are constantly teaching hime new words and phrases (although sometimes he doesn't need much encouragement!) I'm now also a whizz with Joseph's 'Stickle Bricks' and have become quite profficient building spaceships and aircraft- not to mention large boats. Somrtimes I think I missed my vocation in life!

Meantime young Thomas will celebrate his first birthday next week and is now 'speed crawling!' Yes, we need eyes in the back of our heads at the moment. Thanks to the lovely Mrs Wiggy for keeping the lads entertained at breakfast whilst I am presenting the show......Can't be easy

Forgot to mention amongst a chaotic weekend that I did some filming for the longest standing UK soap last Friday aswell. I've now got my Equity card after several requests from friends in the business to get involved. I worked on the amazing S4C soap Pobol Y Cwm which is not only watched by people in Wales, but has lots of viewers across the whole of the UK aswell, The scene was shot at a VERY famous landmark restaurant in Wales, very posh and will probably go to air later this week. Look our for MR Wiggins playing a diner in a very swish 'Whistle And Flute'...Don't forget the camera always puts pounds on you aswell!

Here's a direct link to their I-Player so you can catch up with all the latest events...It's getting quite suacy over at 'The Deri' at the moment!
