It's been a VERY busy couple of weeks here at Bro Radio HQ. You may have seen this is in the local news:

"Ex Real Radio Wales presenter Steve Wiggins has been appointed Station Manager of community station Bro Radio.

The station – which launched in 2009 – is based in Barry and covers the Vale of Glamorgan area of South Wales.

Steve, known to listeners as ‘Wiggy’, is already Bro Radio’s breakfast show presenter and took over in charge of the day-to-day running of the station from this morning.

A statement from the board of directors of the community station said: “We look forward to moving Bro Radio forward to the next level with Steve, as we predict a very exciting and challenging year in front of us. Steve will also continue to host the Bro Radio Breakfast Show.

Former Valleys Radio presenter Gareth Sweeney, who has been Acting Station Manager, stays on as Station Producer as well as presenting the 10am-2pm show.

Wiggy left Real Radio last year after 8 years at the station and quickly re-joined his old station 96.4 The Wave in Swansea to do a weekend show, which he continues to present."

This is fantastic news for all involved and of course I'm over the moon to learn that I will be contuing to present my daytime show and working alongside Wiggy to keep Bro Radio the best radio station that serves the Vale.

Myself and Wiggy both look forward to taking Bro Radio to the next level and all the challenges that brings with it.

Sweeney x
