A Conservative Candidate, who defected to Reform UK a week before polls opened, has been elected to represent the Plymouth Ward on Penarth Town Council.
Zak Weaver recieved 546 votes, 94 more than the second-place Green Party candidate, Mark Todd Bailey.
Last week, it was confirmed that Weaver was one of two senior aides to the leader of the Conservatives in the Welsh Parliament who defected to Reform UK, less than 7 days before voters went to the polls in the Plymouth Ward.
The newly elected Councillor for the Plymouth Ward on the Town Council was unveiled last week as one of two Conservative aids to defect to Reform.

Welsh Labour candidate Mutale Merrill recieved 221 votes, whilst Plaid Cymru Candidate Aled Robert Thomas recieved 221.
A total of 1,423 votes were cast in the by-election on Thursday, 19th February, with 8 being unmarked or wholly void for uncertainty.
