Heritage, Arts & Culture - Make a nomination

The Heritage, Arts and Culture Award is a new category for 2026, and aims to recognise organisations that promote, champion and encourage individuals to participate with their work in the Vale of Glamorgan.

The category looks to recognise groups of all sizes, who may not have previously been recognised in categories such as Community Group of the Year or The Charity Award.

The award looks to recognise an organisation in the Vale of Glamorgan that is working to celebrate its rich history, encouraging people to participate in the heritage, arts or culture, or working to create a better understanding of the local heritage, culture or their own cultural background.

This category is sponsored by Mack Events.

Judges in this category will be looking for organisations that have reached a goal, target or major achievement in the last 12 months, to further progress their work, reach and community participation.

Before making a nomination, we've put together a few hints and tips to help you in writing a nomination that will best reflect the work of your nominee.

Our tips for a top nomination:

  1. Our judges won't know the person, business or group which you're nominating. Make sure you give the judges as much background on your nominee, their work and why they deserve to be recognised.
  2. You have 2,000 characters, use them. Our judges won't know of the work of your nominee, so its important you give them as much information, backgrounds, stories and highlights as possible.
  3. The awards are about celebrating the Vale of Glamorgan. Throughout your nomination, highlight to our judges how the nominee has made an impact on life in the Vale of Glamorgan.
  4. Don't rush (unless you've left it to the deadline). Before submitting your entry, write it out in a document and send it to friends or colleagues, to make sure it is the best reflection of your nominee.
