The festive season is a time for giving, sharing, and spreading joy within the community. This year, Barry & District Rotary has joined hands with Project LINUS to support their annual Christmas Fayre and Santa’s Grotto.
Barry & District Rotary is a voluntary organisation dedicated to serving the local community through various charitable initiatives. The group actively seeks opportunities to make a positive difference, particularly during the holiday season, when support is needed most by vulnerable groups and families.
Project LINUS is a charitable endeavour focused on providing handmade blankets and quilts to children who are seriously ill, traumatised, or in need of comfort. The project relies on donations and the efforts of local volunteers who create these comforting gifts, symbolising warmth and care.
This year’s Christmas Fayre promises to be an exciting event for families and individuals across Barry, Sully, and the surrounding district. Featuring a variety of stalls selling festive goods, crafts, and treats, the Fayre provides an opportunity for local makers to showcase their wares while supporting a good cause.
No Christmas Fayre is complete without a visit from Father Christmas! The Santa’s Grotto, run in partnership with Barry & District Rotary, will give children the chance to meet Santa, share their Christmas wishes, and receive a small gift. The grotto will also feature a Christmas Workshop with a range of crafting activities, face painting, making reindeer food, and a luck-dip.
