Dementia Friendly Groups, Barry and Penarth, Present:

Sunday 18th May 2025 at 11am
A service in support of Mental Health and Dementia Action Weeks
Location: Salem Baptist Church, Beryl Road, Barry
Guest Speaker from the Alzheimer’s Society
ALL ARE WELCOME

Wednesday 21st May 2025 from 11am to 3pm, Barry “Turns Blue” for Dementia
An open event to raise awareness and tackle the stigma surrounding Dementia.
Location: Barry Library, King Square
To Be Opened at 11am by Barry Town Council Mayor Elect, Councillor Dennis Clarke.

Thursday 22nd May 2025 from 11am to 3pm, Penarth “Turns Blue” for Dementia
An open event to raise awareness and tackle the stigma surrounding Dementia
Location: Paget Rooms, Victoria Road, Penarth
To Be Opened at 11am by Penarth Town Council Mayor.

More than 28 organisations will be on hand to offer advice and guidance, including many local groups, as well as The Alzheimer’s Society, Dementia UK, Admiral Nurses, Marie Curie and many more.

A big thank you to the Vale of Glamorgan Council, Barry Town Council and Penarth Town Council for their support in “Turning Barry and Penarth Blue” ie Hood Road Tunnel Lights, Barry Island promenade shelters, Barry Cemetery, and Penarth Pier. Plus all the other businesses and organisations who will also be decorating their premises in blue on the 21st and the 22nd May 2025.
