The Mayor of Barry, Cllr Dennis Clarke and the Mayoress welcome you to visit the Dovecote, the only grade I listed building in Barry, within a site that was once a castellated manor house which now has a grade II-listed rectory. There will be an opportunity to hear about the history of the site and some of the previous owners, with talks hosted by The Mayor of Barry and Victorian Barry Experience.
More Information (Bro Radio is not responsible for external websites)
Booking required for visits from 11.00am to 1.00pm each hour in groups of 20 on Sunday 21st September. All proceeds will go towards the Mayor’s chosen charities: Mind in the Vale and Valeways.
Mount Pleasant is accessed from the east end of Court Road – the turning off the roundabout, just to the south of the Practice of Health, not the Court Road turning. No. 4 Mount Pleasant is directly in front of you, with access through two large pillars. Park on the road as part of the tour refers to the area where cars would otherwise be parked.
Wheelchair access to the Dovecote may be difficult, due to the narrow entrance.
