H is for Hawk follows Helen Macdonald, a writer and experienced falconer, who retreats into the ancient art of training a goshawk following her father's sudden death. Acquiring Mabel, a fierce and unpredictable bird, Helen embarks on an intense process that mirrors her own struggle with grief and isolation. As woman and hawk develop their precarious bond, the training becomes a meditation on wildness, loss, and the instinct to escape when confronted with unbearable pain.

Based on Macdonald's acclaimed memoir, this adaptation captures the raw beauty of the English countryside and explores mourning through nature's untamed spaces, interweaving Helen's journey with T.H. White's own troubled falconry experience.
