Art4U is set to hold their annual Friendship Tree Arts Festival on Sunday 6th July. The festival is now in its 16th year and has become something worth looking forward to in the Barry calendar.

This year we have decided to make a change to the festival.We were thinking about how we could better promote the ethos of the festival focused on Friendship, Kindness and Care. So, here is what we come up with - the visual art side of the festival will remain the same with some great Visual art featured from independent artists and the Dinas Powys art group. Also look out for some great willow sculptures created by Rob Tilley. The musical side of the festival will now be in the hands of the community. What does this mean? It means, no stage, no sound system. Instead we will be giving an open invitation to musicians to come to the park on 6th July and choose a spot to play in, perhaps sit with a group of friends and have a singalong together on the grass, perhaps a musician will sit on a bench and play. Whatever you decide to do the idea behind it is to fill the park, for one day, with all kinds of instruments and voices. Just be sure to give each other space and then contribute to the atmosphere with your passion and talents in the spirit of friendship, throughout the park and seafront. Kindly spread the word, lets all make this a fantastic gathering. We welcome all members of the public to come and enjoy music, art, peace and friendship in a beautiful natural setting.
