Could your family or group be joining Santa, his Elves and Bro Radio in switching on the Barry Christmas Lights?

We've partnered with Barry Town Council to kick off the festive season on Saturday, 22nd November, with the Barry Christmas Switch On.

The Christmas event will feature a stage with live music from 12pm, Santa’s Grotto, fun fair rides, street entertainment and a festive market. The light switch on itself will take place at 6:15pm.

Barry Town Council funds the Christmas lights on Park Crescent, High Street, and Holton Road each year. In addition, this year Barry Town Council will also be lighting up the Town Hall and providing the Christmas tree on King Square.

Terms and Conditions

• This promotion begins at 8 am on Friday 6th November 2025 and closes at 23:59 on Tuesday 18th November 2025.
• By entering this competition, you agree to be available on the evening of Saturday 22nd November, to attend the Barry Christmas Light Switch on at King Square in Barry.
• The main entrant must be over the age of 18 and a resident of the Vale of Glamorgan. Bro Radio and its partners may request proof of residence.
• For this competition, a family or group refers to a group of up to five connected people, in any format. This must include a minimum of 1 and maximum of 2 adults, and a minimum of 1 child and up to three children. 
• A winner will be chosen via a random draw by Bro Radio on the morning on Wednesday, 19th November 2025.
• Once chosen, the winner will be contacted on the above number to confirm availability. If the lead entrant is not available to attend, then Bro Radio will re-draw the winner. 
• Parts of the call which takes place on Wednesday 19th November 2025 may be utilised on air by Bro Radio and via the Bro Radio and competition partners social media channels.
• We reserve the right to solicit entries via social media or other platforms and invite people to register for the promotion.
