Barry Arts Festival will welcome storyteller, writer and actor Dick Johns for an evening of humour, creativity and reflection at the Park Hotel on Wednesday 30 September at 8pm.
The event, titled Words of Wisdom, will see Johns draw on his extensive career in writing, acting and comedy.
His work includes winning the Actors’ and Writers’ Yearbook short story prize in 2017 for his collection Dignity, alongside decades of experience performing drama, writing fiction and helping small groups develop their creative confidence.
Johns studied English and Drama at Manchester University before training in Acting at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
His latest book, Ten Transformative Drama Games, exploring how drama activities can support wellbeing, creativity and focus, will be published by Routledge next year.
He will be joined by friends for an evening of warmth, poetry and song.

It will be an evening of laughter and song that also inspires us to reflect on our own lives and experiences.
