A recent concert featuring music from Vale Voices Choir has raised £660 for the Gift of Grace Charity.
Vale Voices is a pop-up community choir from Barry featuring members of all ages, hosting a number of concerts each year.
The event, which was attended by the outgoing Mayor of Barry, Cllr Dennis Clarke, took place at Ysgol Sant Baruc.
The choir were joined by the South Notts Men's Chorus, who performed well-known songs by Queen, as well as Welsh classics.
The concert also showcased the vocal talents of soloist Ela Williams, from Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg, who later joined Vale Voices on stage to sing Robat Arwyn's, Anfonaf Angel.
Gift Our Grace supports children's education in the Delta Province of Nigeria, particularly focusing on supporting girls in education in rural communities.
The outgoing Barry Town Mayor Cllr Dennis Clarke, said “It was a great pleasure and an honour to see Vale Voices in concert as my final event as Barry Town Mayor.
“As a community choir, they always bring great enthusiasm and a smile to the face.
“Hearing the South Notts Men’s Chorus singing well-known Welsh songs was also a great delight as were the talent of Ela Williams, who has a great career ahead of her.
“Thanks, as always, to Dot Connell for her enthusiasm and experience in bringing events like this together.”
