Two anglers have been rescued after they were cut off by the tide at St Mary’s Well Bay.
The RNLI at Barry Dock said the pair found themselves stranded on the tip of Ball Rock after they were caught out following a day's fishing.
The inshore lifeboat was sent out at 9.30pm on Wednesday night in clear and calm conditions.
The anglers were safely taken aboard the D-class lifeboat, but they had to leave behind their bikes and fishing rods until they could be retrieved after the tide dropped.
They were dropped off at the Captain's Wife slipway at Sully Island causeway due to the state of the tide and as the pair had working phones, were over the age of 18 and had a safe way to get home.
Barry Dock RNLI coxswain Andy Gavan said: "The casualties were able to use the lights on their head torches and phones to guide us in, which saved so much time because it was pretty dark when we reached them."
"I checked in with them the following day and they were able to safely recover their bikes and fishing gear when the tide dropped."
