Barry Town Council's annual Family Fun Day is set to return to Central Park and King Square on

The free-to-attend family fun day out will feature entertainment and low-cost workshops for families to enjoy, with a theme of "Street Skillz".

Running from 11am to 4pm on Thursday, 21st August, the goal is to provide an affordable and accessible day out for families during the Summer Holidays and cost of living crisis.

The event will feature an array of free entertainment and activities will be supplied, including skateboarding, parkour, beatboxing and graffiti workshops, alongside rock wall climbing, dance and more.

Throughout the afternoon, there will be live performances from local musicians, Finn Davies, Aggi Evans and Frankie Wood, with the Bro Radio van in attendance, hosting free have-a-go radio sessions.

King Square will be filled with a generous selection of food and drink traders, and local craft stalls including cakes supplied by Cegin Sophie and Eleri's Welshcakes, Crepes from Maple Crepe Co, Snow Cones and drinks from Frozen Rainbows, and a BBQ supplied by Barry Round Table.

Leader of Barry Town Council. Councillor Bronwen Brooks said “I am delighted that Barry Town Council’s Family Fun Day returns for another year, offering a low-cost day out for everyone in the community to enjoy. The theme this year focuses on teaching young people skills whilst having fun and really enjoying themselves – something that is very important to Barry Town Council. I hope everyone has a fantastic time and I’m looking forward to seeing you all there!”
