
A Penarth man has beome the first in Cardiff and the Vale to given a stalking prevention order (SPO).
The 66 year-old is under investigation following two incidents involving an 18 year-old woman.
South Wales Police made a successful application for the SPO at Cardiff magistrates court on Thursday - the order prevents the suspect from contacting her in any way or attending her workplace or home.
Detective Chief Inspector Christine Edmunds said: "Everyone has the right to feel safe, wherever they are, and nobody should be subjected to violence, harassment, and intimidation."
"We hope this Stalking Protection Order will make the victim feel safer and give her trust and confidence in South Wales Police."
