Llantwit Major have secured Cymru South football for next season after gaining a Tier Two licence from the FAW.
The Windmill Lane club were among 26 clubs from across South Wales to be awarded the licence following a two-day meeting in Cardiff.
Four clubs from the region, including Taffs Well, were refused licences while another three withdrew their applications.
It's a pre-requisite for competing in the second tier of the men's Welsh football pyramid, which is split into the Cymru North and the Cymru South.
A club spokesperson said: "Llantwit Major AFC are happy to announce that we have successfully been awarded our tier two license for the 2025/26 campaign. We thank everyone involved in this achievement and are looking forward to another exciting season in the Cymru South."
Llantwit's applcation was judged on six key sporting criteria - including infrastructure, legal and financial matters, personnel, sustainability and its youth and coaching setups.
But the FAW has been actively encouraging second-tier teams to apply for top tier licences as a pre-requisite to access its Future Growtth Fund, designed to grow the number of Tier One teams.
That means six clubs from the Cymru North and the Cymru South will be promoted at the end of the 2025-26 campaign.
For their part, club officials at Llantwit Major are planning for the future by looking towards improving both their ground and their facilities.
On the pitch, Major were boosted last month by the return of Karl Lewis as manager - having won three league titles with the club, including the Cymru South championship in the 2021-22 season.
Lewis held a clubhouse meeting with supporters on Tuesday night to discuss the club's hopes and plans for the forthcoming season.
