Louis Rees-Zammit has been named on the bench for his return to international rugby as Wales prepare to face Argentina.
The Penarth-born wing last played for his country in September 2023, when they were knocked out by the Pumas in the quarter finals of the Rugby World Cup.
Rees-Zammit returned to rugby union in August following his unsuccesful bid to launch an NFL career - and joined Bristol Bears this summer.
A toe injury has limited the 24 year-old to only a few appearances for the Prem Rugby club, and although he has since recovered, new head coach Steve Tandy is not rushing him into the starting XV at the first opportunity.
By contrast, Rhys Carre is given his first start since the 2023 Six Nations, having fallen out of favour with Warren Gatland.
Up until now, the Saracens prop forward was ineligible for selection because he has just 20 Wales caps - five short of the number required for those who play their club rugby outside Wales.
Jac Morgan regains the captaincy following the Lions' Test series triumph in Australia with teammate Tomos Williams also returning at scrum half.
Second rows Dafydd Jenkins and Adam Beard are also recalled having missed the summer tour to Japan.
Joining Rees-Zammit on the bench is Leiecester back-row Olly Cracknell, who could make his debut after receiving a late call-up in place of the injured Taulupe Faletau.
Tandy said: "I just want to see that 23 really go out there and express themselves on Sunday and enjoy every moment of representing the country in such a unique and special jersey.”
Wales XV to face Argentina: Blair Murray; Tom Rogers, Max Llewellyn, Ben Thomas, Josh Adams; Dan Edwards, Tomos Williams; Rhys Carre, Dewi Lake, Keiron Assiratti, Dafydd Jenkins, Adam Beard, Alex Mann, Jac Morgan (captain), Aaron Wainwright
Replacements: Liam Belcher, Nicky Smith, Archie Griffin, Freddie Thomas, Olly Cracknell, Kieran Hardy, Jarrod Evans, Louis Rees-Zammit.
