Nearly £3,000 has been raised for a family from Dinas Powys after their home was gutted by fire.
Three crews were called out last Friday morning to Caerphilly Close, where they found a property at the end of the terrace 'well alight'.
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service (SWFRS) said the fire was started accidentally by a lithium battery used for an electric scooter.
A online crowdfunding appeal for the Buckler family has so far raised £2,885 as of Monday morning and is aiming to reach £3,500.
Chelsea Ann Buckler, writing on GoFundMe behalf of her parents and siblings, said the fire had "completely destroyed" their home and "everything inside it" in a matter of moments, describing it as "the place where our memories were made, where we felt safe, and where life felt normal."
She said: "Watching it all disappear is something that still doesn’t feel real. What hurts even more is knowing how close we came to losing each other."
"My sister had to jump from her window to escape the flames. She survived, but she’s now in a boot and on crutches, barely able to walk, and recovering from both physical pain and the shock of what she went through."
"We are endlessly grateful that she’s alive, but our hearts ache for what she endured. Right now, we are trying to process the loss, the trauma, and the long road ahead. We are holding onto gratitude for safety and life, while mourning everything that was taken from us."
In a later update, Chelsea said the family had been able to return to see the damage caused, which had left them "even more distraught".
A SWFRS spokesperson said they received a call at around 12.09am to reports of a domestic fire at Caerphilly Close.
They added: "Crews and appliances from Penarth, Cardiff Central and Barry attended the scene of a well alight fire in an end of terrace property."
"All occupants were evacuated prior to the arrival of crews. The fire was extinguished using four breathing apparatus, two 45mm jets, and a triple extension ladder. The fire was accidental, caused by a lithium-ion battery."
The crews left the scene of the fire at around 4am.
