The latest data from the Office for National Statistics shows that house prices in Wales are rising faster than the UK Average.
House prices in Wales rose faster than the UK average in 2025, with some areas seeing an increase of 7%.
The annual percentage change figures up to December 2025 show that the Vale of Glamorgan has the third-highest increase in Wales.
Average house prices in the County have risen 5.2%, with the average price now standing at £300,000.
The highest increase in Wales is the Isle of Anglesey, where prices have risen 7.2%, whilst Newport saw an increase of 5.2% compared to the year prior.
In the neighbouring areas, Cardiff saw prices rise just 2.4%, to an average of £271,000, whilst in Bridgend, prices rose around 0.1%, with the average house price standing at £209,000 according to the ONS.
Across Wales, the average house price was £215,000 in December 2025, up 5.0% (£10,000) from a year earlier.
