Dispersal order put in place to tackle anti-social behaviour

Thursday, 30 July 2026 10:28

A 36-hour dispersal order has been put in place by South Wales Police this weekend to tackle anti-social behaviour around Broad Street, following an incident on July 26th.

The order covers both Broad Street and High Street and runs from 6 pm on Friday 31st July until 6 am on Sunday 2nd August.

It gives officers the power to order people to leave the area if they are causing, or likely to cause, harassment, alarm, or distress.

The dispersal order follows investigations by Police, surrounding reports of an affray on Broad Street on Sunday 26th July at approximately 1:30 am.

Since investigations were launched, Police have arrested a 36-year-old man from Barry on suspicion of affray. He remains in police custody.

To support the order, South Wales Police say an increased presence will be maintained throughout its duration.
