A £1 million programme of improvements to Pencoedtre Park is set to get underway this month, with a new splashpad, skatepark and toilet block planned.
Vale of Glamorgan Council says the investment is being funded through the UK Government’s Pride in Place Impact Fund and will see a series of upgrades made to the popular community space.
The first phase will focus on the new splashpad, with work due to begin on Monday 9 November.
Plans are also progressing for a new skatepark, with local residents and users being invited to help shape its design.
A community drop-in session will be held at Gibbonsdown Community Centre on Wednesday 4 November, between 6pm and 7pm.
Skaters, young people, families and other interested residents will be able to view proposals and share their views on what they would like to see included in the new facility.
The council says an online survey will also be made available for those unable to attend the session.
Further details about the wider improvements, including the final design for the new splashpad, are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
