The Vale of Glamorgan Council has been named Employer of the Year by Cardiff and Vale College at an awards ceremony during National Apprenticeship Week.
The ceremony, held at the College's Dumballs Road Campus, saw the Council being recognised as a valued partner for over a decade, with the award said to highlight a strong and consistent commitment to developing talent through apprenticeships.
Over the course of the partnership, more than 60 apprentices have progressed through programmes across multiple sectors, each supported by academic learning and practical experience opportunities.
Cllr Rhiannon Birch, Cabinet Member for Education, the Arts and the Welsh Language, said: “This recognition as Employer of the Year is a tremendous achievement for the Vale of Glamorgan Council and one we are incredibly proud to receive. Our long-standing partnership with Cardiff and Vale College has enabled us to invest meaningfully in local talent, creating high-quality apprenticeship opportunities that open doors and change lives.
“Apprenticeships are a vital part of our commitment to building a skilled, resilient workforce for the future. They support succession planning, strengthen our services and ensure we continue to deliver for our communities.”
