Children in the Vale are being encouraged to take part in a summer reading challenge.
The Story Garden is the theme of this year's Reading Agency initiative, encouraging youngsters to discover the wonders of nature through storytelling.
From this weekend, local children can sign up for the challenge at any library across the Vale of Glamorgan.
For every two books read and returned, readers will recieve stickers and a special folder to track their reading journey - while anyone who reads six books or more will get a medal and a certificate of achivement.

Cllr Rhiannon Birch, cabinet member for education at Vale of Glamorgan Council, said: "We are thrilled to see the Summer Reading Challenge return once again to Vale of Glamorgan libraries, and The Story Garden theme offers a wonderful opportunity for children to immerse themselves in the beauty and wonder of the natural world through books."

The annual challenge aims to inspire children to develop their literacy and language skills outside of school.
Among the featured 'Story Garden' titles this year are Clara Anganuzzi's The Ocean Gardener, James Carter's BOING! A Bouncy Book of Bugs and Alex Mullarky's The Edge of the Silver Sea.
