The new Adran Premier season kicked off on Sunday with Barry Town United beaten 5-0 at home by The New Saints.
Both sides shared a hatful of early chances at Jenner Park with Barry’s Ellie Preece and Carys Bufton testing away keeper Rebecca Elliott.
But the Saints broke the deadlock via Molly Harvard on 36 minutes with their first shot on target, despite strong calls for offside.
Barry started the second half brighter, but ten minutes after the break, Lauren Dunkerley doubled the visitors lead before Chantelle Teare made it three on 64 minutes.
Lia Lewis scored from the penalty spot in the final ten minutes before Lexi Jones rounded off the rout.
Barry’s first away game of the season sees them travel to Swansea City next Sunday.
