Barry Town United wrapped up their pre-season preparations with a 2-0 win over a young Newport County XI on Friday night.
Ieuan Owen put the hosts at Jenner Park in front after eight minutes from Mikey George's cross.
The young striker repeatedly threatened to make it a brace in a dominant first-half display from the hosts.
But they eventually got their second after 40 minutes, when Owen tipped a corner kick onto the crossbar, before Ollie Hulbert headed in from the rebound.
Barry finish their warm-up campaign with three wins, two draws and one defeat from their six friendly games.
The new season kicks off next Saturday as Barry enterain Aberstwyth Town in the second round of the Nathaniel MG Cup (2.30pm ko)
