Barry Town United slipped to their first defeat of the Cymru Premier season - beaten 1-0 at Aberystwyth Town on Friday night.
Manager Steve Jenkins handed a debut to new signing Ieuan Owen - with Evan Press handed the captain's armband in the absence of Kayne McLaggon and Eliot Richards returning to the starting XI.
But what turned out to be the only goal saw Jonathan Evans volley home at close range from a corner to put the Seasiders ahead on 33 minutes.
Evans went close to adding a second after the break, and despite pushing hard for an equaliser, Barry found themselves shut out by the Aber defence.
Barry, who are ninth in the table, will be aiming for an immediate response on Monday, when they face a Newtown side who lost 4-0 at home to Caernarfon on Friday night.
Kick off at Jenner Park is at 2.30pm with full match commentary available from 'Talk of the Town' at broradio.fm/sport
