Barry Town United returned to the top half of the Cymru Premier table following a crucial 4-1 victory at ten-man Colwyn Bay.

Steve Jenkins' men cruised to their first win in six league games before the Sgorio cameras at Llanellian Road on Saturday evening.

Barry named just one change from last weekend's stalemate at Bala with Will Richards returning to replace Keston Davies.

But the Seagulls, who had won three of their last four games, went ahead after 13 minutes when a long throw-in from Aron Williams flew into the path of Nathan Peate, who tapped in past keeper George Ratcliffe.

The visitors didn't have long to wait before Ieuan Owen captialised on a poor pass from Lewis Sirrell, before curling home into an empty net for the equaliser on 20 minutes.

The prodigal forward fired Barry ahead just five minutes later from the rebound after a Mikey George effort was saved by Bay keeper Alex Brown.

Shortly before the half hour, the Bay found themselves a man when Sirrell was shown a straight red for a rash shove on Owen.

Barry's pressure in the second half eventually paid dividends when Robbie Willmott squared the ball towards Ollie Hulbert, who followed up by slotting home from the edge of the box on 67 minutes.

Willmott turned scorer ten minutes later with a strike that deflected off the Bay's Solomon Forde to cap off their biggest league win on the road in over four years.

Barry climb to sixth in the table - ahead of Bala Town on goal difference - as attention turns to Tuesday's Nathaniel MG Cup quarter final at Haverfordwest County (7.45pm ko) before the league campaign resumes at home to Flint next Saturday.

Haverfordwest prepared for their league cup showdown with a battling 3-2 defeat to leaders The New Saints, who remain nine points clear of nearest rivals Penybont, following their dramatic 4-3 victory over Flint Town United.

Caernarfon remain third after beating Briton Ferry Llansawel while Cardiff Met's unbeaten run ended with a 3-0 defeat at home to Connah's Quay Nomads.

Llanelli remain six points adrift at the foot of the table following their 1-0 defeat at Bala on Friday night.
