Barry Town United will play host to Penybont in their Nathaniel MG Cup quarter final next month.
Steve Jenkins’ men booked their place in the last eight of this year’s competition with a 4-1 win over Trethomas Bluebirds on Tuesday night.
Barry have won the cup four times, most recently in 2000, and last reached the final in 2017 when they were runners-up to The New Saints.
Since then, the nearest they’ve reached the showpiece was in 2022, when they were beaten by Cardiff Met in the semi finals.
Their opponents reached the quarter finals with a narrow 1-0 win over Haverfordwest on Tuesday.
Barry have yet to play Penybont this season, which will make their Cymru Premier clash in Bridgend on October 4th something of a rehearsal - with the cup tie itself at Jenner Park on Tuesday 22nd or Wednesday 23rd October.
The other tie in the South pairs up the last remaining wildcard entry in the cup, Cardiff City U21s, with 2019 winners Cardiff Met, who demolished Goytre United 9-1 in the third round.
In the North, cup holders The New Saints are at home to Bala while Connah’s Quay Nomads entertain Aberystwyth Town.
Meanwhile, another weekend of league action beckons with Barry at home to Caernarfon this Saturday at Jenner Park (2.30 ko) - full match commentary will be available at broradio.fm/sport
