Barry Town United have signed centre-back Keston Davies ahead of the new Cymru Premier season.
The 28 year-old is the first new arrival of the close season at Jenner Park, following the return of goalkeeper George Ratcliffe earlier this month.
Davies spent the last two seasons at Pontypridd United, and before that, four years at reigning Cymru Premier champions The New Saints.
The club says Davies "adds real steel and calm" to the Barry defence, with his "composure on the ball, aerial presence and strong positional sense."
Keston said: "I’ve always admired Barry from a distance – the club’s history, the fans, the way they play. When I spoke to the staff, it just felt like the right fit straight away. I’m here to help push this team forward and give everything."
Davies began his career at his hometown club Swansea City, where he was a product of the club's academy.
After loan spells at Yeovil Town and Notts County, he moved into the Welsh football pyramid with The New Saints in 2019, making 44 league appearances before moving to Pontypridd United in 2023.
Barry's head of football, Steve Jenkins, says he was pleased to secure Davies' signature as the new season draws nearer:
"Keston reads the game so well and brings a calmness to the back line", he said. "On top of that, he’s a top professional and a great character to have around the dressing room. He’s exactly the type of player we’ve been looking for."
Davies is expected to feature in Barry's pre-season campaign, which kicks off at home to Newport City on Saturday 5th July.
