Llantwit Major and Dinas Powys have landed home ties in the first round of the JD Welsh Cup.
Dinas Powys - who play in the Championship division of the South Wales Premier League (SWPL) - were the only lower league club in the Vale to qualify this season, after beating Clydach Wasps and Croesyceiliog.
Their reward is a home clash with Afan United from the SWPL’s Premier division.
The Port Talbot club, who have just secured a new home at the former Afan Lido astroturf pitch, beat Splott and Sifil on their way to the first round proper.
Dinas are unbeaten so far this season, after collecting four points from their first league games.
Llantwit Major enter the fray in the first round when they entertain Baglan Dragons in an all-Cymru South clash at Windmill Lane.
Major made it to round two of last season’s competition, going out to Morriston Town on penalties.
But manager Karl Lewis has yet to clinch his first competitive win since returning to Llantwit, despite promising performances from summer recruits Kofi Rowe and Tom Stokes - who both scored in their 3-3 draw at Trefelin last Saturday.
Ties in the Welsh Cup first round will be held on the weekend of Friday 19th - Saturday 21st September.
Meanwhile, Llantwit kick off their bid for the Welsh Blood Service Cup this Friday night when they visit Trethomas Bluebirds (7.45 ko) in the first round of the Southern section.
