Sophie Ingle has returned to training with the Wales squad as she targets a place at the Women's Euros.
The former captain missed the whole of last season after suffering an ACL injury last September while playing for Chelsea in a friendly against Feyenoord.
It's a big boost for the Llandough-born defender with manager Rhian Wilkinson set to name her squad for their first ever major tournament in less than three weeks time.
Ingle, who is leaving Chelsea this summer, was left out of the squad for their last two group games in the Women's Nations League, which concludes on Tuesday with a home game against Italy in Swansea.
But Wilkinson said on Monday that although everyone was keen on Ingle to be involved at the Euros, she remained non-commital about her inclusion.
"It's very obvious that we want her in Switzerland. Everything is tracking that way but she will not be rushed or pushed", she said.
"And I think that's where I'm very greatful with (the) club and with Wales, who are on the same page - they communicate regularly."
But the Wales manager did confirm that Ingle, who is continuing to train with Chelsea before her departure, remained ''ahead of schedule'' in her recovery.
"Any injury is a lonely place to be...and one of the big gains is not just being back on the field with the ball, but being back with your teammates", said Wilkinson.
"She's done that with her club and equally at country...it's just one of these milestones that are such boost and I know you can see it in her that this is a big moment."
Wales will go to Switzerland following relegation from the top tier of the Nations League for the second time in two years.
Despite earning two 1-1 draws against Sweden, Wales have yet to record a win this year as they prepare for their last competitive game before their historic tournament debut.
Barry-born keeper Soffia Kelly remained on the subs bench for Friday night's 1-0 defeat to Denmark, which saw a Jess Fishlock goal controversially disallowed, leading to calls from the Seattle Reign midfielder for goalline technology to be used in the UEFA competition.
But Wales will look to bow out of League A on a high as they complete their nationwide tour at the Swansea.com in the run up to their opening game against the Netherlands on Saturday July 5th.
