Former Wales captain Sophie Ingle has rejoined Bristol City on a two-year deal.
She missed last season due to an ACL injury she picked up during a pre-season game last September.
Ingle recovered in time to reach the Wales squad for the Women's Euros, but she made only a fleeting appearance at their major tournament debut in Switzerland.
Now, she returns to Ashton Gate and the club formerly known as Bristol Academy, where she captained the squad during the 2014-15 season and made 27 appearances.
Her new contract with the WSL 2 side, led by head coach Charlotte Healy, includes an option for a further year.
Ingle told the club website: "After speaking to Charlotte and everything that the club offers both on and off the pitch, it felt like a good fit. The club wants to get promoted and I love winning."
"It is going to be tough in this league, but I want to get back playing to the best I can and offer as much as I can for this team."
Ingle's first spell in Bristol ended after one season with relegation from the women's top flight.
But having been named the club's player of the season, interest from other clubs grew and by the end of the year, Ingle had signed for Liverpool, where she remained before returning to Chelsea in 2018.
Charlotte Healy added: "Sophie has an affinity to Bristol City and understands the history of this fantastic club. She is a world class player whose talent, experience and leadership will help project this club to where we want to be."
