Barry RFC are out of the Division One Cup after calling off their first round clash against Abergavenny.
The Bombers were due to host Abergavenny at the Reservoir Field, but injuries and illness have sidelined ten players in the first team squad.
The option of permit players was ruled out, as they would then have been cup-tied should their club make progress in the competition.
The Bombers therefore forfeit the game with Abergavenny going through to the next round.
It's been a tough start to the season for Barry, who have lost their first three games in Division One of the Admiral League.
Barry’s youth team are home to Aberdare in the Cardiff Premiership Blue League on Saturday (2.30pm). There were victories for both teams in their opening league fixture last week.
