Andy Legg has returned to Barry Town United for a second spell as their first team manager.

The former Wales international took over from Steve Jenkins in the second half of last season, guiding Barry to the end-of-season play-offs - where they were knocked out by Caernarfon in the quarter finals.

But Legg's tenure at Jenner Park was brief - with director of football Jenkins once again taking charge of first team affairs for the start of this campaign.

On Tuesday night, a club statement revealed that that Legg was returning to his role on first team manager "following a short period of time away from the club due to personal circumstances".

Jenkins will again stay on as director of football and first-team coach - his last game as manager was last Saturday's shock Welsh Cup exit at CPD Y Rhyl.

Barry resume the Cymru Premier season at home to Colwyn Bay this Saturday - with a top six finish already secured and a guaranteed spot in the end-of-season play-offs for a place in the Europa Conference League.

Legg made more than 700 appearances during his club career, that took in spells at Swansea City, Cardiff City, Notts County and Birmingham City, scoring 72 goals and earning six international caps.

He moved into management with Hucknall Town in 2007, before a three-year stint at Llanelli began in 2009, when at the age of 42, he was part of the side that shocked Motherwell in Europa League qualifying.
