Llantwit Major let the lead slip in their 2-1 defeat at Newport City in the Cymru South.
Ben Stait's men have slipped to three straight defeats as the league campaign approaches its climax.
City had yet to beat Llantwit in league and cup action this season ahead of their Friday night encounter at the Newport Stadium.
The hosts enjoyed the better chances of a goalless first half, but three minutes after the break, Cian Williams teed up Ioan Emmanuel to break the deadlock with his sixth league goal of the season.
But Newport were level on 50 minutes when Kofi Rowe flicked the ball from the edge of the box and over the head of veteran keeper Jack Lansdown.
City took the lead from Richard Noyes' long thrown-in, which found Lathan Garrett who headed in from close range on 64 minutes.
But Major pressed hard for a share of the spoils - with even Jack Lansdown coming close to scoring from a corner in stoppage time.
Llantwit drop to eighth in the table as attention turns to their final home game against Caerau Ely next Saturday.
