Llantwit Major are into the quarter finals of the Welsh Blood Service Cup after beating ten-man Pontypridd United 2-1.
Jack Bevan and Josh Jones scored either side of the break for the hosts in their second round clash at Windmill Lane.
Ponty handed a debut to ex-Barry Town United goalkeeper Mike Lewis, newly signed in midweek after a spell at Cymru Premier strugglers Llanelli.
Tom Gameson was shown a straight red card for the visitors after half an hour, but the deadlock was only broken deep into stoppage time in the first half with Bevan scoring from the penalty spot.
Josh Jones made it two for Llantwit four minutes after the break, with Rob Jones providing the assist.
Ethan Edwards found a reply for United on 73 minutes in an increasingly scrappy game, which saw referee Dan Richardson issue eleven yellow cards - including one for Ponty manager Matt Driscoll who ran onto the pitch to confront a Llantwit player.
But it was Karl Lewis’ men who held on to book their place in the last eight, helped by a crucial late save from keeper Ryley Allen.
A busy week for Major continues when their stop-start Cymru South campaign resumes on Tuesday with a rearranged trip to bottom club Cwmbran Celtic, followed by Treowen Stars’ visit to Windmill Lane next Saturday.

Elsewhere in the second round, Newport City drew 1-1 at Carmarthen Town before winning 9-8 in a marathon penalty shoot out.
Treowen Stars are also through after beating Ammanford on penalties following a 1-1 draw on Friday night while Afan Lido routed Baglan Dragons 5-1.
