Llantwit Major AFC have secured a £20,000 grant for pitch maintenance equipment at its Windmill Lane ground.
The Cymru South club announced on Thursday it had made a successful fundng application to the FAW's Cymru Football Foundation.
Llantwit have been planning to improve their ground and facilities ahead of major changes to the Cymru Premier next year, which will see the top flight expand from 12 teams to sixteen.
A club spokesperson said: "With the pitch a key focus are as we continue working to improve the club in all aspects, we are delighted to announce a big step forward."
"Our application to a Cymru Football Foundation grant worth over £20k in equipment has been successful, allowing us to make significant improvements to our playing surface."
"A huge thanks to (the) Cymru Football Foundation and all involved in making this happen."
Since February 2022, the foundation has invested around £18 million on improving facilities at grassroots clubs across Wales as part of an FAW commitment to develop "fit-for-future" infrastructure that helps Welsh football to grow on and off the pitch.
Among the projects supported locally, Sully Sports was given over £158,000 to upgrade its changing room facilities while Caerau Ely was given £150,000 to create a new grass training pitch.
Llantwit, who recently welcomed back Karl Lewis as manager, were granted a Tier Two licence last month to continue playing in the Cymru South after missing out on a Tier One licence.
The FAW has been actively encouraging more second-tier teams to apply for top tier licences as a pre-requisite to access its Future Growtth Fund, designed to grow the number of Tier One teams.
Three clubs will be promoted from the Cymru South next season ahead of a shake-up of the Cymru Premier, which also includes a move to Friday night fixtures, the introduction of a VAR Lite system and a three-way split towards the end of the league campaign.
