Keenan Patten has left Barry Town United to join Newport County for an undisclosed fee.
The midfielder made over 50 appearances with the Cymru Premier club since joining on a free transfer from AFC Fylde in 2023.
He scored eleven goals - with ten so far this season, including a brace in what turned out to be his final game for Barry - last Saturday's 3-1 win over Flint Town United.
Patten is Newport's sixth arrival in the January transfer window, signing an 18-month contract with the EFL club.
He said: "I’m absolutely delighted to join the club. To get this over the line is great and I’m really looking forward to getting started."
"I’m excited for the challenge of League Two football and I can’t wait to get out there."
Barry's director of football Steve Jenkins said: "It’s been a pleasure having Keenan with us over the past 18 months. He’s earned this opportunity to return to full-time football, and we wish him all the best in his future career.”
A product of the Cardiff City Academy, Patten signed his first professional contract with the Bluebirds in 2019, spending loan spells with Penybont and Hereford FC as well as representing Wales at youth level.

His departure for Rodney Parade was finalised ahead of the January transfer deadline on Monday night.
It comes as Keiron Evans was ruled out for up to six weeks, after the Cardiff loanee suffered a calf injury in Newport's 1-0 win against Barrow last Saturday.
Jonny Barrett, director at Barry Town United, added: "Keenan fully deserves the chance to play full time football again. He has handled this whole process with great professionalism."
"We’re a club that supports our players and when our financial requests were met, this was the right decision. We’d like to thank Huw Jenkins and Newport County for the way they’ve managed the transfer."
Barry, who unveiled Andy Legg as their new manager at the weekend, are seven points clear at the top of the Play Off Conference going into next Saturday's visit to Newtown.
