Moving to a new club this season has paid off for ex-Barry RFC junior Sol Bowditch.
The former under-12s player switched to Llanishen - and ended the campaign in fine style - scoring a try for his new club as the Lions won the Cardiff Rugby Cup Plate under-12s final.
Sol, a pupil at St. Richard Gwyn High School in Barry, had played for his hometown club through from tag rugby to under-12s, but felt he wanted a fresh challenge.
The son of Sam Bowditch, a member of the club’s youth coaching team, Sol made the move and it turned up trumps.
Llanishen beat Llantwit Fadre 26-14 in the final at Cardiff Arms Park. They trailed 14-7 at the interval, but Sol opened the second half scoring to close the gap to 14-12, and the Lions added two more tries without reply to end their first season in the competition as champions.
