Ellis O'Grady made his Wales international rugby league debut in their recent draw against Scotland Bravehearts.
The Sully Sports fullback was named in the starting line-up although he has to wait for his cap until an end of season presentation following the Dragonhearts’ final fixture.
The 19 year-old - a recent recruit to the league code - played for 35 minutes in the first half of the 10-10 draw at Leigh Sports Village, and then came back on at an interchange for the final 20 minutes.
The former Barry RFC Youth player, who moved to Sully in the close season, is hoping for a second appearance for the Dragonhearts - a combination of youth and experienced players - when they take on the Irish Wolfhounds at Castleford next Saturday, before he goes back to playing rugby union in the winter.
"There are a few League teams playing locally that I could go and join,” he said, "but I’m only going to play League in the summer."
"Now I’m going to put my head down in Union and get as far as I can in that. When the summer comes round I’ll get back to doing League and Union, and hopefully get picked for the Wales squad again next year."
