Dinas Powys were the only grassroots club from the Vale to progress in the first round of Welsh Cup qualifying.
The South Wales Premier League club needed penalties to beat Clydach Wasps following a 2-2 draw at the Murch on Saturday.
Josh Baynton and susbtitute Eddie Watkins had put the visitors 2-0 in front, despite having Will Owens sent off midway through the second half.
But Dinas mounted a dramatic late fightback as Jack Preston struck with five minutes to go, before Luke Davidson's 94th minute equaliser forced a shoot-out, which the hosts won 4-1.
Elsewhere, there'll be no cup run for Cardiff Airport this season, who were knocked out after a 4-2 defeat to Evans and Williams.
Curtis Scoto Dabusco replied for Airport after Elliott Jones and Llywelyn James put the visitors 2-1 up, before sub Dylan Ashford added a third for the Llanelli club.
Ryan Escott was sent off for Airport in the closing stages, with Jones scoring a penalty soon afterwards, before Airport pulled back another goal via Jack Davies.
Sully Sports' cup hopes ended on penalties against Cwmcarn Athletic following a 1-1 draw.
Martin Campbell had put the Vale side ahead on 47 minutes before Dayten Rudakov-Davies drew level six minutes later. Athletic went onto win the shoot out 4-3.
Ely Rangers also miss out on the second qualifying round following a 2-1 defeat at Abergavenny Town.
Callum Flynn made amends for a missed penalty in the first half by scoring from the spot five minutes after the break.
But Ali Brisam restored parity for the hosts on 53 minutes before Oliver Bruton broke Rangers' hearts with a 95th minute winner.
