A student at Ysgol Bro Morgannwg in Barry is celebrating after she gained six A* grades in her A level results.
Stefanie Maurer acheved top marks in art, chemistry, physics, maths, further maths and the Welsh Baccalaureate.
The former Ysgol Sant Baruc pupil was also elected as one of the head pupils at the Welsh medium school this year.
She also combines her school studies with ballet, which she performs at a high level, and is preparing to sit her grade 8 guitar exams.
Bro Morgannwg headteacher Rhys Jones said it was the first time he can remember anyone achieving so many top grades.
"The range of subjects studied was impressive and demonstrates Stefanie's versatility," he said. "Stefanie is a truly impressive human being and will be successful in whatever she chooses to do in the future."
He added: "To top it all, Stefanie is a delightful girl. She always shows great humility and will always go the extra mile to help others, be that helping fellow pupils with their work or organising charity events as demonstrated during her time as head pupil."
Vale of Glamorgan Council said Stefanie's performance followed a drive to improve Welsh medium education in the county.
In the last five years, there's been extensive work at Ysgol Bro Morgannwg, which has included the creation of a 3G rugby pitch, sports hall, three-storey teaching block, a multi-use games area, a new design and technology block and a learning resource centre.
Two years ago, Ysgol Sant Baruc moved into a purpose built home on Barry's waterfront, while there are plans to move Ysgol Iolo Morganwg in Cowbridge to a new site and double its capacity to 420 pupils.
The chair of the Cardiff and Vale College, Geraint Evans, told Bro Radio News that Welsh medium education in Barry was "in a very healthy state".
Speaking after he was inducted into the Gorsedd at the National Eisteddfod in Wrexham, he said: "The system produces great results."
"You've just got to look at Ysgol Bro Morgannwg - by now, it's one of the foremost secondary schools in Wales, not just in educational terms, but in sporting and culutral, and more and more parents are buying into that."
According to figures published by Vale of Glamorgan Council, 81.9% of A Level students earned A* to C grades ths year.
Nearly a third of all students in the county achieved either an A* or A level grade, while 98.4% got grades ranging from A* to E.
