Three of six candidates standing in the Pen-y-Bont Bro Morgannwg constituency have stepped down, less than a week after the party launched its full list of Senedd candidates.
Derek Roberts, who was second on the party's list in the constituency and the chair of the local branch, stood down for "personal reasons", which have not been made public, according to a Reform UK source.
Owain Clatworthy, the party's sixth candidate, has also left the party in protest at the selection process. Both decisions come after Corey Edwards, the first candidate on the list, stood down last week after a photo appeared to show him performing a Nazi salute.
Sitting first and second on the list, Corey Edwards and Derek Roberts had the best chance of being elected for Reform UK in the constituency.
The party is yet to announce who will replace the three, with nominations closing on 9th April.
Owain Clatworthy was selected in sixth place on the list in Pen-y-Bont Bro Morgannwg, having been elected as a councillor in Bridgend in 2025.
He announced he was leaving the party on social media, stating "recent events, including poor internal decision making, a lack of discipline and serious concerns around candidate selection, have made it clear to me that Reform UK is no longer operating in a way that reflects the standards I believe the public deserve".
In each of the Senedd's 16 constituencies, parties are required to table a list of candidates under new voting rules. Candidates featured lower than third place on a list are less likely to get elected, but parties are required to field six candidates on a list, in order to be allowed to spend up to the full limit on the campaign.
