He'll join the choir at Memo Arts Centre on 17th November 2024.
Aled Jones will be supported by one of Wales’ longest-running male voice choirs at one of his solo shows this autumn.
Barry Male Voice Choir (BMVC) will be guest performers at Memo Arts Centre in ahead of Aled’s performance at the venue on November 17, 2024. They will also perform one song with Aled on stage.
Aled will be on the second leg of his popular Full Circle tour, which kicked off with a sell-out show at The Apex, Bury St Edmunds, on September 9. The one-man show features stories and songs from Aled’s 40-year career in showbiz.
BMVC is Wales’ longest continually-performing male voice choir, established 122 years ago. It is an amateur choir singing a variety of musical styles, from traditional Welsh hymns and songs to more contemporary music – from Elgar to Elbow.
Affectionately known as the Boys in Blue because of the blue suit jackets worn my members, the 55-strong choir has a professional conductor and accompanist. Performing at local events from weddings to civic ceremonies, the choir often raises money for charity.
Aled says: “It will be wonderful to have the support of BMVC at my gig in Barry. The choir is full of rich talent and, like me, they are true crossover artists performing everything from classical standards to pop hits.”
The choir’s musical director Dot Connell adds: "We are thrilled to be on the programme with a Welsh singing legend.
"Versatile, long-lasting and lovable - Aled and BMVC have so much in common! It is an evening not to be missed.”
