The product is part of a campaign which aims to raise awareness of the 5.3 million people in the UK who are making the choice between eating and hygiene.
It comes as new research from the Hygiene Bank has found that although almost 1 in 12 (8%) of the UK Population are currently experiencing hygiene poverty, around 20 million people still haven't heard of the issue and the profound impact it has on people's daily lives.
The Goodwash Company has been developing the product over the last six months.
“We were approached by the Hygiene Bank to create a soap to raise awareness of this problem, and the soap would be something that you could wash with and you could eat. We said yes, as I thought it would be something fun” said Mandy Powell, CEO and co-founder of the Goodwash Company.
“Initially we were thinking something along the lines of a Welsh Seaweed, Sea Salt or even a breakfast bar soap with some oats, but the Hygiene Bank said they wanted a proper evening meal and so we went with beans on toast.”
“It's something we’ve experimented with for the last six or seven months, working with Swansea University and their scientists to develop the flavour. I think all our staff and the Royal Mail postie are all sick of testing the soap now!”

The initiative is also calling for the removal of VAT in soap, encouraging the nation to sign a petition.
