A lifeguard from Barry is taking part in the European Lifesaving Championships.
17 year-old Rosie Chick is part of the Great Britain youth squad competing in Poland this week.
Last year, she qualified as an open water lifeguard with Aqua Park, which recently moved its Cardiff Bay site to Cosmeston Lakes.
She's being sponsored by her employers, who have donated their funding to Surf Life Saving GB - a charity supporting the national teams - to help cover her competition costs.
Rosie said: "Representing Great Britain at the European Lifesaving Championships is a dream come true, and this sponsorship means I can concentrate on my training and preparation."
"I'm really excited to compete in Poland and I feel proud to represent both my country and my local community."
Rosie's older brother Oliver, who also works for the water park company in the summer while studying at university, is undertaking further training this year to follow in the footsteps of her sister.
Connor James, marketing director at Cosmeston Lakes Aqua Park, added: "Rosie has been a fantastic addition to the Aqua Park team, showing skills, enthusiasm and a real passion for lifesaving."
"We're delighted to support her as she takes on this exciting opportunity with Team GB and gains recognition on an international stage. Her achievement is an inspiration to the rest of our team, and we'll all be cheering her on as she heads off to compete in Poland."
"It's really important to us that we champion local talent like Rosie and continue our close ties with lifesaving organisations, including the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) and Surf Life Saving GB."
The European Lifesaving Championships, taking place in the cities of Szczecin and Międzyzdroje, continues until Sunday.
