Three men have been jailed following a pre-Christmas crackdown on shoplifting in Barry town centre.
Neighbourhood officers in the town stepped up their patrols as part of a force-wide Winter of Action focusing on crimes affecting local communities.

Two men, Matthew Moore (28) and Matthew Hatherill (37) were arrested following a theft at the Boots store on Holton Road on December 15th.
Three days later, the pair were re-arrested during a 'day of action' targeting prolific offenders and wanted people in the Barry area.
Cardiff magistrates heard both Moore and Hatheill were linked to further shoplifting offences in the Holton Road area and charged accordingly.
Moore was sentenced to six months in prison after pleading guilty to five counts of theft and Hatherill was sentenced to eight weeks after he admitted three counts of theft.

In a separate case, Jamie Colburn was arrested by a neighbourhood officer in Barry on December 22nd, following a theft at a TK Maxx store in Talbot Green the day before.
He was linked to two more thefts in the Holton Road area of Barry and re-arrested.
Colburn was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison by Cardiff magistrates after pleading guilty to three counts of theft.
Inspector Huw Tyler from South Wales Police said: "The Barry neighbourhood policing team have been working tirelessly to make sure Barry is safe for businesses and the wider community."
“I encourage anyone with concerns to reach out to us either via South Wales Listens or via our website, so we can continue our efforts to tackle the issues that matter to you.”
