A public consultation is underway on a new 15-year local development plan for the Vale of Glamorgan.
Residents, businesses and community groups are being asked to have their say on Vale of Glamorgan Council's deposit RLDP (replacement local development plan) which runs between 2021 and 2036.
When it's adopted, it will provide the framework for planning decisions for the next decade.
A series of public drop-in events are also being held to allow the public to view the plans and ask council officers about the RDLP, which sets out the overall development strategy, along with:
- Planning policies to guide future planning decisions
- Areas of land that should be protected
- Specific site allocations for development, including new homes and employment land
Cllr Ruba Sivagnanam, cabinet member for community engagement, said: "The RLDP sets out a long-term vision for the Vale of Glamorgan, focused on supporting sustainable growth, protecting our natural and built environments, and creating strong, well-connected communities for the future."
"It provides a clear framework for where development should take place and how future planning decisions will be made to make the Vale a great place to live, work and visit. We want to hear from as many people as possible about the contents of the plan."
"Residents can view the consultation documents online and share their feedback, or come along to one of our drop-in events to look at the plans and speak directly with planning officers. Your feedback will be carefully considered and will help shape the next stage of the plan."
Three drop-in events are taking place in the coming week at
- Cowbridge Town Hall on Tuesday (10th) from 3.30 - 6.30pm
- Paul Lewis St Athan Community Centre on Wednesday (11th) from 3.30 - 6.30pm
- CF61, Llantwit Major on Friday (13th) from 2-5pm
More information about the deposiit RLDP can be found on the Vale of Glamorgan Council website - the consultation continues until Saturday 11th March.
