A group of international carnival drummers will join an encore performance of a unique pirate opera in Penarth this weekend.
Dance Carib, based in the Acton area of London, play drums and percussion music from the Carribean and have regularly featured at the Nothing Hill Carnival.
Last month, they appeared as guests for a London performance of 'An Act of Piracy', which explores the links between Wales and Trinidad - and they've been invited to appear again when it returns to the Penarth Pier Pavilion on Friday.

Local baritone Richard Parry, who co-created the opera, said: "It’s great that Dance Carib want to come to Wales and perform with us again."
"Our show is set in a Rum Shop in Trinidad, and the remarkable drumming from Dance Carib thrilled the audience the other week. They really bring the atmosphere of the Caribbean right into the heart of thew show, which is deliberately designed to grow with collaborations."
"We’re delighted to welcome Dance Carib to Penarth this week, part of this beautiful musical and cultural conversation."

An Act of Piracy, which debuted to a sell-out audience in Penarth last November, mixes calypso and classical British sea songs to tell the story of a West Wales man who was kidnapped by pirates at the end of the 18th century.
Unlike most conventional opera, the audience is invited to dress up as pirate.
Lead actress Mary-Anne Roberts, who co-created the opera, said: "The reaction to the show has been terrific."
"People are amazed to find that Wales and Trinidad have a shared history. They love the juxtapositions of Trinidadian calypso and classical European operatic traditions. It’s a show of great contrasts and deep poignancy."
